ATLAS At Work
Frequently Asked Questions
FAQ
ATLAS-At Work is a comprehensive workplace hearing and ear health program designed to expand traditional safety approaches beyond noise compliance. It integrates education, early self-detection tools, ototoxic risk awareness, and access to over-the-counter (OTC) hearing and earcare solutions into existing workplace systems. The goal is proactive prevention and workforce performance optimization.
Hearing impacts communication accuracy, situational awareness, safety performance, and team collaboration. Hearing loss is often gradual and underreported, yet it directly affects productivity and risk exposure. Similarly, ear-Red Flags’ for common problems or underlying medical conditions are not well known. In addition, these aspects are directly related to brain health. Addressing hearing and ear health reduces preventable performance and safety gaps.
The program includes digital training, customizable workplace materials, hearing and ‘Red Flag’ self-assessment tools (per FDA), access to over-the-counter OTC hearing aids and OTC ear care products that meet FDA standards with guided support, and searchable databases identifying drugs and chemicals that may impact hearing and balance. These elements integrate into existing safety and HR systems.
Traditional programs focus on regulatory noise compliance (per OSHA). ATLAS-At Work expands the scope to include FDA-provided hearing and ear health education and how that relates to brain health, ototoxic exposure awareness, early detection, and accessible intervention pathways. The program will expand to cover other databases, such as Other products affecting alertness and balance, products with addiction potential, health supplements, and stimulants. It positions hearing and ear health as both as safety and performance essentials.
